Lisa Thorne
Principal
Lisa loves accounting so you don’t have to. An Elite-level Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor and a former Ernst & Young CPA, Lisa spent 12 years as a public accounting auditor and accounting manager for large corporations, including The Gap, Inc., VISA USA and CNET. Her background as an auditor means that Lisa knows what auditors are looking for: immaculate documentation and audit-proof books. As the principal at New Insight Accounting since 2008, she helps smaller Bay Area businesses thrive. Lisa holds a BA in Business Economics from UC Santa Barbara, with a minor in beachgoing. She lives in Oakland with her family.
Stephanie Katz
Staff Bookkeeper
Stephanie is a QuickBooks Online wiz with 16 years as a staff accountant for Bay Area small businesses in the fields of tech, advertising and real estate. When it comes to small business accounting, Stephanie is an industry agnostic: She just loves clean books. A native of Texas, Stephanie lives in Concord with her family.
Jyothi Lokesh
Staff Bookkeeper
A bookkeeper with 17 years’ experience working for financial clients including Accenture and Tesco, Jyothi takes the drudgery of monthly accounting off your plate. For Jyothi, it’s not even drudgery. When she’s not taking care of your numbers, Jyothi enjoys traveling, reading fiction and spending time with her husband and son. Jyothi holds a Bachelors of Commerce from Karnataka Open State University. She lives in Mountainhouse, CA.
Meghan Diggins
Senior Bookkeeper
Meg believes that clear and accurate financial documentation gives business owners the freedom to plan smarter and dream bigger. She works directly with clients to set up their books, conduct monthly reconciliations and QuickBooks cleanup, manage accounts payable and create financial reports that give business owners the confidence to grow. Meg lives with her family in Gualala, where she enjoys living in the woods, heading to the beach and hanging out with organic farmer friends. She is a Certified ProAdvisor in QuickBooks Online and holds a BS in Computer Information Systems.
Reneė
Administrative Assistant
Reneė is the friendly voice you hear on the phone, and the helpful team member you reach when you email admin@newinsightaccounting.com. In addition to making life easier for Lisa and New Insight’s other staff, Reneė assists clients with questions she can resolve quickly or refer to staff. Finding loose threads and tying them up make Reneė happy — and make our team happy, too! When she’s not keeping everyone organized, Reneė enjoys spending time with her family, their rescue cats and dogs, and their three longhorn cattle.
